Terms and conditions

Prices are subject to change

I hold the right to reject a commission for any reason

 01. General Terms

Payment will be accepted through paypal invoice after the commission has been approved.

Commissions can be paid in full or 50% upfront and 50% after sketch approval.

02. Payment

Currently commissions take about 1-2 weeks to complete depending on the complexity.

Once the piece is completed you will receive a full resolution scan as well as tracked delivery of the physical piece.

Note for non-USA commissioners: The commission quote includes delivery price but does not include any duties, customs, or processing fees. Please be aware that the UK and much of the EU have implemented new requirements for packages arriving from the abroad (I am based in the USA) and you will very likely be required to pay these fees before the package is released to you.

03.Process and Delivery

Due to the nature of watercolor, it is imperative that references and descriptions of the commission are as accurate as possible. That being said, revisions can occur in the sketch stage. You are allowed 3 rounds of changes in the sketch stage.

A fee will be added if changes are made after approval.

04. Revisions

I, Sarah (the artist):

  • I reserve the right to cancel and refund the order at any time for any reason.

  • I retain all copyrights over the commissioned artwork.

  • I will NOT claim the intellectual property (IP) of the commissioned artwork.

  • I will NOT profit further from the commissioned artwork unless you (the commissioner) break any of the terms.

  • I reserve the right to post the commissioned artwork online, in my portfolio.

You (the commissioner):

  • You may upload the commissioned artwork on any website and social channels.

  • You may NOT make profits from the commissioned piece (reselling, redistributing, uploading to POD-services, make prints, etc.)

  • You may NOT alter the commissioned artwork without my (the artist’s) consent.

  • You retain the rights to the intellectual property (IP).

  • You may not use the commissioned artwork for commercial purposes.

The following is considered copyright infringement:

  • Reproducing and/or using the copyrighted artwork commercially - making any money off of it in any way

  • Claiming the artwork as your own

  • Altering the artwork without my consent

In some cases the commercial rights to an image may be purchased.

05. Copyright and Usage

No refunds are allowed once I have started the commission.

If for any reason I am unable to start your commission, you will receive a full refund.

If you cancel your order before I have started it, you may receive a full refund.

If you are receiving a refund, do not request a Paypal chargeback. I will transfer the money to you myself.

If you request a chargeback at any point after I have started the piece, you will lose all beforementioned rights to the commissioned piece and I will have the full right to profit further from it in any way. I will decline the chargeback and supply Paypal with our conversations in which we talk about the commission as evidence that I have completed work for you. You will be blacklisted from commissioning me again.

06. Cancellation and Refund Policy

What do you get?

  • Digital drafts/mockups from which you will decide how the piece will continue.

  • Final sketches and color comps that you must approve before the final watercolor.

  • Full resolution scan and the physical piece mailed to you with tracking.
